Client: Municipality of Volgograd
Architect: Studio Zoppini
Cost: Euro 20 million
Project: 2009

The new Volgograd Cultural Centre is conceived as two solid elements, the Arts Centre and the Auditorium, connected by fully glazed public spaces. The Auditorium becomes a musical instrument designed to emphasize the sound quality while the art centre, although thoroughly contemporary in style, it is a low impact building contributing to the townscape in a discrete yet exciting way, integrating sympathetically with new masterplan.
